Connect with top Oxfordshire networking gurus
We like to think we’re a fresh and rewarding networking group, one of the best around, and that’s entirely down to the quality and commitment of our members.
From our long-standing crew with plenty of meetings on the clock, to our newest members wanting to learn and be seen, we make up a pretty special group for Oxfordshire networking.
Take a closer look and see who you could meet on a regular basis. Join us and we’re sure you’ll soon be counting yourself as one of our networking gurus!
Old-timers at Oxfordshire networking
Carl Evans has just been appointed Chair of the group, and is an original member of the founding team. Carl offers advice on all areas of wealth management, including retirement planning, wealth protection, savings and investments.
Darren Green is another of our longest-standing members, our resident accountant since 2012 and a partner at accountancy company MGroup. When he isn’t managing clients, he can be found in football boots playing for a local team or on skis when winter comes around.
Julie Blake runs Oxford Content Company, and is passionate about creating content that connects companies with customers for lasting relationships. Julie brings passion and commitment to the group, working hard to attract new members and strengthen existing relationships.
Finally, I’m Kevin Ackland, and I run Witney-based IT Support company, Systems and Solutions, bringing the same committed attitude to Juice as we do to providing quality IT services to local businesses and the general public.
Crowd pleasers and gurus
With a truly varied mix of members, we have a balanced spread of men and women and a good variety of ages, industries and backgrounds. And although we work well together as a group, we do appreciate every member’s individuality; there are a few quirks that really stick in the mind and set you up for a more entertaining day.
Paul Dean from Aston & James office supplies is always guaranteed to be fun and upbeat, no matter how early a start we have. Marilyn O’Brien and husband Garry keep everyone’s wills shipshape and regularly promote the benefits of power of attorney. Martyn Stacey offers family law solutions, being especially keen to minimise the adverse impact separation and divorce has on children.
Simon Brusch’s waistcoats help contain his superpower of being able to talk to computers and get them to do what he wants, as his CloudPerfect company ensures you get the best possible business software solution. And if data protection chat leaves you dazed and confused, don’t worry, our resident expert Regina Lally will soon resolve any concerns with a crystal clear picture from Databasix.
Our ‘best 60-second pitch’ challenge has fierce competition, with James Jones from A-Plan always a great contender, while Martin Spicer’s reassuring pitches give you all the advice you need on property and surveying issues.
Lindsay Hugo is our mortgage expert extraordinaire, while if renting is more your thing then Steve Way can give you chapter and verse on landlords and property management, when he isn’t playing drums and guitar for a local rock band.
Our charity seat is held by Tamsyn Wymer who keeps us fascinated with real-life stories of poverty from the Africa Children’s Fund. And we think of all our members as Oxfordshire networking gurus, even our newest ones like Caroline Stevenson, who has just celebrated a year in business with her digital marketing agency Beyond Your Brand. Not forgetting Anna Gage, from Edelweiss HR, providing fantastic HR services across London and the Cotswolds.
Special mentions
All our members are active in keeping the momentum of the group going, but some of us deserve a special mention, none more so than Christina Taylor of Admin Support and Solutions, who keeps us all organised and supports the Chair with all things admin.
With Juice what you see is what you get, and you’ve seen a snapshot of members here. A lot of activity goes on in the background with regular committee meetings, and everything is transparent to our members, including where the money goes and how we use it to sustain and develop the group.
With our socials and lots of support for local charities, we couldn’t be more delighted with where our group is going, the business successes we share and the relationships we are building, both at and in-between meetings.
So what about you?
