What makes business networking great in West Oxfordshire?
A good networking group offers quality business referrals and leads, practical advice and guidance, and opportunities to raise awareness of your business at regular well-run meetings.
But a truly great networking group can do so much more. At Juice we’re all about the business opportunities – but we also believe there is more to networking than just the work.
Networking that’s about more than just work
Over the last few months we’ve been involved in lots of different activities as usual.
With social events, fun learning sessions and charity work we’re building team spirit and strengthening relationships, getting to know each other as people, as well as members of a valuable business network.
We’re happy to be a growing group that’s engaged, supportive, interesting and fun. Here are just a few of our recent activities that we believe put us a cut above other networking groups in West Oxfordshire.
Golf, coffee and pub quizzes
We like to get together more often than just our regular Tuesday breakfast meetings at Witney Lakes Resort.
Pub quizzes and photography walks are just a few social events to mention, with a chance to relax and talk more informally about ourselves and our businesses.
A meeting at the Coffee Shed gave us the opportunity to try out a different setting with the added challenge of trying out the Adventure Golf course.
We also had ‘live coffee roasting’ lessons and learned Fair Trade coffee facts when we met up at UE Coffee Roasters, a company with great ethics and a long-term sustainability strategy we can all learn from.
Meditation
We have also recently welcomed the inspiring Gill Kirkham to a meeting where she ran a wonderful meditation session, designed to help us with finding clarity and seeking positive outcomes.
We’re all getting to know more about self-care, and meditation has been proven to increase work performance and general well-being so it’s a win-win for everyone. It’s important to make sure our bodies and minds are happy and healthy to support our physical and mental health.
African Children’s Fund
Our chosen charity partner is making a huge difference to children in poverty, and we were delighted to have Tamsyn Wymer of the African Children’s Fund reveal that in the first year of our fundraising partnership we raised £3,400.
We achieved this through our members’ continued support, fundraising endeavours, donations and introductions.
The money has bought 48,728 bowls of porridge, which means that 194 children can attend school for an entire year.
How these extras make Juice even better
We enjoy spending time together which isn’t solely focused on seeking out new business.
We believe this gives us the space and the opportunity to discover a different perspective, which can help us go back with fresh eyes to our business referrals.
Taking part in different activities and experiencing new environments can also stimulate fresh ideas.
And having the opportunity to give back to the community with our charity work means we can share our values of support and respect – all while having a wider influence for good.
At Juice we give you support for your business, and through diverse ways to engage with each other, we aim to give you even more than you might expect from a ‘standard’ networking group.
